We awoke to a drizzlely day. After breakfast, Pastor Jorge (of the Ozumba church) beckoned us to the roof to see Mt. Popo in the clear blue sky venting a little steam.
Construction began with moving a ton and a half of sand and gravel (each) from the front of the property to the rear (via wheel barrows). VBS saw about 25 children arrive bright eyed and ready to learn. Dr. Rachael, assitant Melinda and Kathy saw the VBS kids for medical check ups, vitamins, and education in tooth health.
We are still in a quandry in MX City with our ransomed bags. The customs agent made a mistake when we arrived not letting us pass with our documented, donated supplies. The pink form started a chain of events that are difficult to undo. We have the Mexican Methodist church office in Mexico City working on our behalf. We will contact the US consolate in the morning and we pray between the two, our bags will be released. Please pray fpr a quick resolution to this situation.
Every one is doing well. The food is awesome , the people are wonderful......and tomorrow holds Market Day! We will try to upload pictures tomorrow.
To see a webcam of Mt Popo and the current weather, go to www.stmatthewumc.net and click on the Mexico Mission trip logo. Then click on the next logo and you will be led to the page that has the webcam and weather links.

Hey Mexico Mission Team! You are in my thoughts and prayers this week! Glad to hear you guys made it there safely. I look forward to reading your blog through the week! I must say I am surprised that it wasn't Ray that was waking everyone up to say "Come look at Popo!" Be careful and Take Care!

I am so happy to hear that everyone made it to Ozumba safely and that things are getting underway! I am praying for a quick resolution to the customs problems. May God bless you throughout your trip and may His love be evident to all around you.

Hi Ray,
I'm praying about those bags. I guess my letters didn't help any. I never heard back from the bishop and need to find out why. I must say that my shoulders started hurting when I read about the ton of sand and wheelbarrows. Boy, do I know what you're talking about. Otherwise it sounds like things are going very well for you guys. That's cool about the big tent and being able to worship together on Sunday. No major news to report here. Tell everyone hello and that I'm praying for them by name every morning. I'm enjoying the blogs. God bless,
Cam
